Nationwide Breast Augmentation Clinic Insurance Programs
Whether you’re a physician working for a medical spa or a business owner looking to open one up, the proper insurance coverage is crucial to your operation. Though medical spas may seem like relatively harmless facilities, operating one is actually very risky. Many of the services go beyond the traditional ‘day spa’ regimen into extremely complicated medical procedures such as breast augmentation surgeries. Without the proper insurance coverage, you may be leaving yourself vulnerable to crippling legal expenses and claim payments that could ultimately lead to the demise of your medical spa. Be certain that your livelihood is protected from these risks with AAG’s unique breast augmentation insurance program that is specifically designed for medical spas.
Breast Augmentation Owners Custom Fit Package
Owning and operating an aesthetic clinic is tough enough without having to worry about insurance. As a business owner, your insurance needs are unique and have the potential to be extremely complicated. Let the professionals at AAG Insurance help. We can custom-fit a package for you that covers breast augmentation procedures and all of your other procedure coverage needs.
Most surgery center owners typically ask for liability limits of $1,000,000, but we can work with you to include higher or lower limits based on your particular needs. Our breast augmentation insurance professionals will be happy to discuss your specific business model to provide you with industry insight helpful for your decision.
Physicians
Did you know that the medical malpractice liability coverage you currently carry for your individual or group practice most likely does not extend to breast augmentation surgeries in a medical spa facility? If your current policy does not offer this protection, then your personal assets could be in jeopardy. It is important to keep in mind that lawsuits generally target those with the deepest pockets, regardless of who owns the facility. Our specialized breast augmentation insurance policies can be structured so that they extend to breast augmentation procedures you perform on the spa’s behalf. Others will require you to purchase a separate policy for this work. To find out which applies to you, contact AAG Insurance today.
What is Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation (also commonly referred to as augmentation mammoplasty) is the insertion of synthetic implants into a woman’s breast to increase their size and proportion. This procedure is the most popular way to improve a woman’s breast shape and size. In 2003 alone, plastic surgeons performed more than 280,000 breast augmentation surgeries in the United States. This made breast augmentation the second most common elective surgery and the most common type of breast surgery in the country.
Breast enhancement can give a woman a more proportional shape, and can do wonders to improve her sense of self-esteem. Women may choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery for any number of reasons, including (but not limited to):
- The perception that their breasts are underdeveloped
- Differences in the size of their breasts
- Changes in the shape of their breasts after aging, weight gain, pregnancy or breast feeding
- The desire for firmer, fuller breasts
The process of breast augmentation involves inserting a salt water-filled silicone bag (prosthesis) under the breast and chest muscle. This expands the breast area to give an increased cup size, better contour, and more cleavage.
The incision may be made in a variety of locations including under the breast fold, at the edge of the areola, in the armpit, or in the umbilical area (which is performed with the use of an endoscope). The thinnest and least visible scars typically occur when the incision is made in the areola area.
Once the incision is made, the surgeon must cut a path through the tissue to the final destination of the implant. Once the path has been created, the tissue and/or muscle must be separated to create a pocket for the implant. After the implant is in place, the surgeon closes the incisions with sutures or surgical tape. The entire procedure typically takes between one and two hours from start to finish.
